She has got to be the most self-centered heroine in the history of literature. I still hate Bianca and Lucas with a burning passion. And I must admit, it did get a little better. And then Bianca goes off with things like, "Oh Lucas, forgive me! Balthazar means nothing to me! You're the only one!" Seriously? Lucas, the biggest douche-bag in life, is jealous because she is worried about what might happen to her friend. Okay, so her best friend (and almost lover) is in the next room being tortured. And Bianca is probably the worst heroine in a novel. Basically, Bianca and Lucas are the most idiotic and annoying couple I've ever had the misfortune of reading about. Okay, I'm not even half way through this book, but I had to write a little something about how I felt so far.

Seuss, rocked it with ten of the one hundred spots going to his books. In 2007, they used that information to compile a list of the top 100 children’s books, and our man, Dr. To help parents and teachers out, the National Education Association surveyed a bunch of parents and teachers to see what children books they recommended as the best, the awesomest, the tip-toppiest of them all. There are a lot of books for children out there-like a lot a lot. For some reason, all references to kangaroos got the editorial axe too. So, he added the following lines to Hop on Pop:Ĭerf sprung Seuss’s sly word-trap deftly, and edited all references to contraceptives out of the final product. Seuss was a notorious perfectionist, and he believed he’d unintentionally lulled his publishing house into a “half-false sense of security” with his yearly output. While writing Hop on Pop, Seuss got the feeling his editor, Bennett Cerf, and Random House weren’t paying much attention to his work. Like many of his devilish but good-natured creatures, Dr. Just one example of how bloodlines, horse types and even riders styles have changed from 1978-2018 is that all four USA riders at Tryon were on board European imports: Clinta (OS), Cristalline (BAVAR), Eddie Blue (KWPN) and Zeremonie (HOLST).īack at the first team championship in Aachen, three of the four horses on the USA bronze-medal winning team were thoroughbreds: Balbuco, Jet Run and Tuscaloosa. This year, it reverts again to the World Championships with jumping, dressage, para dressage taking place in Herning, while the eventing and driving championships take place in Pratoni, Italy, in September. The crowd-pleasing, if somewhat contentious, format of the top four riders swapping horses was dropped before the most recent Games at Tryon, where the home team were victors. Another merger took place in 1990 when the World Equestrian Games (WEG) format of equestrian sports world championships was first held in Stockholm.
